A Word from the Mayor
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our Website.
On November 11th 2013, I was sworn in as mayor. The new Council members also sworn in at the time were Pauline Farrugia, Marcella Davis Gerrish, Michael Munkittrick, Carrol Haller, Claude Villeneuve and Alain Beaulieu.
Together, we accept the mandate to manage the Municipality with humility and respect. Humility because the citizens have high expectations; and respect because we want to preserve the distinctive character of North Hatley. Our village, despite its small size, has and will continue to assume an important regional leadership. This Council, as the ones before it, is at the service of the citizens and has been assigned to take decisions that are in the best interest of the citizens.
The Council is attuned to the citizens’ needs. Transparency of decisions remains a priority. We will work together to make sure that our citizens have good services at a reasonable price.
In the current economic climate, it is obvious that we will pay particular attention to expenses. Large projects such as the filtration plant, the dam and the repairs and construction of infrastructures will continue, subject to the same close scrutiny as before.
