To reach the RIPI (Régie intermunicipale de protection incendie) of the Village of North Hatley and the Canton de Hatley: 819 842-3204.
This department plays a key role in fire prevention. With the adoption of the Fire Safety Act in 2000, the Provincial authorities gave MRCs and Municipalities the obligation to adopt and deploy a civil protection plan.
This protection plan:
- Includes a summary description of the physical, natural, human, social and economic features of the territory
- Identifies the nature of the major disaster risks to which the territory is exposed
- Specifies, for each risk, the location of its source, the foreseeable consequences of a major disaster related to the risk, and the area that could be affected
- Describes existing safety measures and the human, physical and informational resources at the disposal of local or regional authorities and civil protection authorities.
Since september 2019, a preventionist is available at the RIPPIME
