Garbage and recyclable materials are picked up every other week between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Bins must be placed by the roadside before 7 a.m. Thursday morning, at the latest. Place bins in your driveway – never in the street – in a place where they are accessible.
- No commercial or construction material will be picked up.
ABC du bac
L’ABC du bac is a sorting tool that allows users to find, according to the item or material to be recycled, the place on the MRC territory where they can dispose of it.
The directory can be consulted by Internet users via a search engine accessible on the ABC des bacs website at http://www.abcdesbacs.com/bottin/.
InfoEstrie
If you wish to recycle electronic materials, you should know that InfoEstrie is an official drop-off point for the Association for the Recycling of Electronic Materials.
This service is free to the citizens of North Hatley and surrounding areas.
Hours of operation for product drop-off: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Note: no products will be accepted outside of the depot’s business hours. Also take the time to check with InfoEstrie their procedures during COVID

Green waste collection
A green waste collection was added to our calendar on May 19, 2023.
Accepted waste :
- Leaves and yard waste (in brown paper bags);
- Branches up to 2.5 cm in diameter and 1.2 m in length tied in bundles.
The truck will make only one pass through the streets. Non-conforming material will be left on site.

Bulky waste
Large waste is collected twice a year. Please consult the calendar for the dates.
The collection of large waste is done by Sani-Estrie.
- No construction materials
- No tires and HHW
- No cement products (slabs, etc)
- No refrigerators containing Freon
- No material from a truck box or trailer left at the curb
- No items longer than 4 feet (1.20 m)
- Branches must be tied in bundles
