The Municipality of the Village of North Hatley is pleased to continue to inform its citizens and the citizens of neighbouring municipalities of the spring flooding situation since our last bulletin.

Since Monday, despite the last rainfalls, the levels of the lake and river, as well as the river flow have been on a continuous decline.  The latest results have permitted the Minister of Public Security to qualify the state of the situation as « normal ».

The weather forecast for the upcoming days indicates a probability of further precipitation.  Surveillance continues by the municipal direction in order to remain up to date on the latest information from the regional direction of civil security and by the Centre d’expertise hydrique du Québec.  Monitoring will also continue to be exercised by the municipality’s public works department.

The municipality’s public works personnel, as well as those of the intermunicipal fire department remain on alert, ready to intervene if necessary.

The municipality will continue to ensure the updating of its Flood-Info section on its web-site at www.northhatley.org and will also use its Infolettre to inform the public if necessary.

FLOOD-INFO 2019 – BULLETIN 06

The municipality of the Village of North Hatley is pleased to continue to inform its citizens and the citizens of neighbouring municipalities of the spring flood situation since its last bulletin.

Over the course of last weekend, the levels of the lake and river, as well as the river flow have been slightly on the rise.  However, since Monday, these levels and flow have been on a continuous decline.

Precipitation of 20 to 30 mm is currently being forecast for the upcoming days, which should not have a significant effect.

Constant surveillance will be maintained by the municipal direction in order to remain up to date on information given by the regional direction of civil security and by the Centre d’expertise hydrique du Québec.  The municipal public works department will also continue to monitor the situation.

The municipality will continue to update the Flood-Info section on its web site at www.northhatley.org and will also use its Infolettre, if necessary, in order to keep everyone up to date.

FLOOD-INFO 2019 – BULLETIN 05

The municipality of the Village of North Hatley is pleased to continue to inform its citizens and the citizens of neighbouring municipalities of the spring flood situation since its last bulletin.

Over the course of the past week, the lake and river levels, as well as the river flow have been on a continuous decline.  This morning, due to the precipitation that has been hitting the region since yesterday, these levels and river flow have begun to increase.  The weather forecast indicates that precipitation will end this evening.  However, the corresponding effects from the water runoff will only be seen later, over the course of the following 24 to 48 hours.  For the moment, the situation remains at a state of « normal ».

Constant surveillance will be maintained by the municipal direction in order to remain up to date on information given by the regional direction of civil security and by the Centre d’expertise hydrique du Québec.  The municipal public works department will also continue to monitor the situation.
