Boating, Fishing and Outings
Massawippi Lake is popular with boaters, and to make sure you enjoy it thoroughly, we recommend you follow the rules for safe boating. See Transport Canada’s Safe Boating Guide.
The North Hatley Marina
The Marina offers launching ramps and a rental service where vacationers can rent kayaks, pedalos, and canoes for an hour or a day of fun on the lake. In addition, the marina is specifically designated by the Municipality as the place to wash boats for environmental protection.
Boat launches and seasonal passes
Before you launch a boat on the Massawippi Lake or River, you must go to the North Hatley Marina and buy a seasonal pass.
Stop the Zebra mussel!
The zebra mussel is a serious threat to our lakes and rivers. In order to curb its spread, every boat must therefore be washed before it enters Lake Massawippi. Boats are washed at North Hatley’s Marina. After cleaning, you will be given a sticker which you must affix to the boat to testify that it has been cleaned.
It should be noted that a marine patrol cruises the lake all summer. If a boat is found to be without a valid sticker, its owner is liable to be fined.
Fishing and Outings
You can plan your fishing adventure on the Massawippi Lake or River at the Serendipity B&B.
