Periodic inventory – Visit of Jean-Pierre Cadrin & Ass. inc.
We hereby advise you that, in keeping with an MRC mandate, we are required to proceed with the periodic inventory of all properties listed on the municipal territory. This consists in visiting properties that have not been the object of a visit in the past 6 years.
At times owners may have forgotten to obtain a building permit for renovation work on their property and in the interest of fairness, the Act Respecting Municipal Taxation requires that an inspector periodically visit all municipal properties.
As such, in the coming weeks Marc-Étienne Lemay, of the firm Jean-Pierre Cadrin & Ass. Inc. will visit all properties that have not been the object of an inspection in the past 6 years.
In conformity with section 15 of the Act Respecting Municipal Taxation, the inspector will carry an identification card (with photograph) signed by the Director-General for the MRC of Memphrémagog, Guy Jauron, and the assessor Jean-Pierre Cadrin.
Section 15 states: “The assessor or his representative may, in the performance of his duties, visit and examine any property situated in the territory of the local municipality, between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, except on holidays.
He must carry an identification card bearing his photograph issued or certified by the clerk of the municipal body responsible for assessment, and must show it on request.”
We thank you for your cooperation.
