North Hatley Joins the Association of Quebec’s Most Beautiful Villages

North Hatley has joined a group of 35 prestigious villages, the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec, renowned for their efforts to preserve their natural landscapes and their architectural heritage.

The village was assessed according to a grid designed by Mr. Yves Laframboise, ethnohistorian and author of books on heritage buildings.

North Hatley “brilliantly met all the requirements,” particularly distinguishing itself through “a unique geographical morphology, being located in exceptional surroundings on the shore of lake Massawippi. Moreover, the historical importance of the architectural conservation coupled with the integrity of the village’s canvas is enhanced by the municipal and private implication in an effort to showcase North Hatley.”

To be a member of this association represents a seal of quality that is nationally and internationally recognized by travellers looking for authenticity and a long-standing way of life.
