{"id":396,"date":"2013-11-21T13:57:02","date_gmt":"2013-11-21T13:57:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northhatley.org\/?page_id=396"},"modified":"2015-01-30T16:42:37","modified_gmt":"2015-01-30T21:42:37","slug":"pesticides-hazardous-waste","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.northhatley.org\/en\/municipality\/municipal-information\/pesticides-hazardous-waste\/","title":{"rendered":"Pesticides and Hazardous Waste"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Pesticides and Hazardous Waste<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h3><strong>Pesticides<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In order to preserve our quality of life, the environment, and public health in the Municipality, the Municipality of the Village of North Hatley has adopted by-law 2002-442 on the use of pesticides within its territory.\u00a0 Town Council adopted the regulation in keeping with the \u201cprecautionary principle\u201d, established under international law.<\/p>\n<p>Pesticides include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fungicides<\/li>\n<li>Herbicides<\/li>\n<li>Insecticides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Therefore please notify the Building and Environment Inspector of the Municipality before proceeding with any type of spraying \u2013 even if it complies with current regulations.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Twice a year, the Municipality, in collaboration with the local regulatory body, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sadccoaticook.ca\/fr\/repertoires\/socio_economique\/entreprise\/regie_intermunicipale_de_gestion_des_dechets_solides\" target=\"_blank\"><em>R\u00e9gie intermunicipale de gestion des d\u00e9chets solides de la R\u00e9gion de Coaticook<\/em><\/a>(RIDGC), organizes a special household hazardous waste collection. You will find the exact date on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northhatley.org\/download\/calendrier_collecte_2014nh_final_anglais.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Pick-up calendar<\/a> (PDF). For any recycling or pickup request outside the scheduled dates, please contact us so that we can direct you to the appropriate agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The Municipality collects the following objects at all times:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Used ink cartridges<\/li>\n<li>Cell phones<\/li>\n<li>Small batteries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can drop them off at the municipal offices, 3125 ch.
